This FO has been hanging around for a bit but I have had to keep it secret because it is in the latest edition of Spindilicity :-)
Swizzle Socks
I spun this yarn up earlier in the year using some merino top that came in half ounce strips of different shades of purple and pink, plus an ounce of natural. One skein comprises of two plies of randomly spun pinks and purples, The other one ply of colours and the other of the natural merino. the plan was to try and make a sock yarn that looked and knitted a bit like Trekking - I think it worked :-).
The darker yarn is used for the main body of the sock, the lighter one was used for the checkerboard pattern, the heels and the toes. Obviously you could use any commercial sock yarn to make it and it is a good pattern for using up odd half balls you might have lying around (or small skeins of handspun).
The stitch pattern looks like this ( it is basically a slip stitch thingy that goes round in circles)
If you want to knit the pattern you can find it here
Consider it an early christmas present ;-)
Great use of your yarn - well done!
