Socks!
The weather has swung between overcast and no wind to sunny and too much wind so I have sat on the beach or on the sofa all week knitting ( DH has been on holiday from work)
A few details :-)
The first pair ( pink and orange footies) are for Dancing Daughter. they are knitted in budget DK on 3.25mm Dpn's - just the thing to wear to drama classes where they work in stocking feet :-)
The second pair are my Scale Skin socks from the Six Sock KAL. they are knitted in Trekking, colour 106 on 2.5mm bamboo DPn's. Fantastic pattern ( though I did modify it a bit) I memorised the stitch pattern so quickly that I left the pattern at home when we went to the beach and so had to substitute my normal gusset heel for the one in the pattern or stop knitting - you can guess the answer :-)
I have plenty of the trekking yarn left and will be able to get another pair of socks out of it - thank goodness for small feet!
The last pair, a bit of fun really. One of the kids on the beach rather shyly asked if I would knit him a pair of socks that he could wear with his flip flops. I asked him if he had a colour preference - he said as bright as possible - so that's what he got!
I had real fun with these and sort of made the pattern up as I went along - don't worry I wrote it down!
They grew really quickly as I knitted it in the same budget brand acrylic DK as Dancing Daughter's footies but this time on my trusty 2.5mm bamboo DPn's
If anyone shows any interest I will post the pattern on my blog - I have to rearrange all my pattern links anyway - I have more patterns being published soon and the sidebar arrangement is getting a bit long so I think I am going to create a page of links to simplify it.
As for the Yeti Feet as the beach crowd christened them, here is a shot to prove that they actually fit!
I love the way the colours pool in sort of zigzags down the foot :-)
I hope to finish my Mountain Peaks shawl today,I have been working on it at home when it has been quiet - somehow I just cannot keep my place in the border pattern and have to mark off each row as it is done. I am getting better at it but I only have 5 border repeat to go to finish it :-)
The weather is foul, It is more like winter than summer here at the moment, torrential rain and wind, I think summer is over :-( Let's hope September is better!

Really cute, all of them. I especially like the Dancing Daughter socks. You should post the pattern, I've seen a number of people on various lists looking for toe sock patterns in the last few weeks.
Wow I wish I were as productive as you've been!

The Dancing Daughter socks are really cute! Hee hee - the toe socks remind me of when I was kid and those were popular. It drove me nuts, have fabric between my toes.
